About

The biography of a quiet practice.

Basab Bijay Sarkar has spent thirty years drawing charts, asking careful questions, and saying very little until it is necessary. This is the rest of the story.

Basab Bijay Sarkar
A note on lineage

Trained under Dr. K. N. Rao and Late Mr. Bejan Daruwalla in the classical Parashari tradition; refined through years of independent case work.

Basab Bijay Sarkar was born in Kolkata in the early 1970s into a family where astrology was regarded neither as spectacle nor superstition, but as a quiet and respected tradition — consulted with the same discretion one might reserve for a trusted physician, and only when life presented a genuine question.

He entered formal practice in 1994 after nearly a decade of rigorous private study and contemplation. His work brings together the classical principles of Vedic astrology with a contemporary understanding of human psychology and spiritual development. His interest lies less in prediction for its own sake than in understanding temperament, recognising cycles of time, and illuminating the choices that clients may already, often unconsciously, be preparing to make. His clientele includes several internationally renowned personalities.

The Practice

Each consultation is unhurried, lasting between sixty and ninety minutes, and is conducted in clear, accessible language. There are no rehearsed formulae, no unnecessary technicalities, and no dramatic pronouncements. The horoscope is the score; the conversation is the music.

Over the years, his practice has grown almost entirely through personal recommendation. Many clients return repeatedly, and some have continued their consultations for decades. The practice remains intentionally selective, allowing each consultation the attention and reflection it deserves.

What This Is Not

This is not a marketplace of instant answers or packaged spirituality. There are no apps to download, no mass-produced horoscopes, and no group sessions. There is simply a person, a chart, and an hour or two of thoughtful, confidential, and attentive conversation.

Principles

Three things, kept.

Confidentiality, absolutely.
Nothing said in session leaves it. No client list is published. No testimonial is attributed without permission.
Plain speech.
If a thing cannot be said simply, it is not yet understood. Charts are translated into the language the client lives in.
A small practice.
The case load is kept small on purpose. Every consultation is prepared for personally, the morning of.
